L’homosexualité comme construction sociale : sur le tournant constructionniste et ses prémices

La traduction en français de textes anglophones sur l’homosexualité se développe mais reste lacunaire. Cet article présente les textes qui ont été réunis et traduits dans ce numéro hors-série et retrace à travers eux l’émergence de la recherche sociologique sur l’homosexualité. Publiés entre 1956 et 1968 en Amérique du Nord, ces articles pionniers, largement méconnus en France, prennent le contrepied de la littérature psychologique ou psychiatrique jusqu’alors dominante en posant les jalons d’une approche constructionniste de l’homosexualité.. The French translation of English texts on homosexuality is growing but still incomplete. This article introduces the texts that have been collected and translated in this special issue and traces through them the emergence of sociological research on homosexuality. Published between 1956 and 1968 in North America, these pioneering articles, largely unknown in France, opposed the then dominant view in the psychological or psychiatric literature and laid the groundwork for a constructionist approach to homosexuality.
