FRANÇOIS CUSSET: THE PROBLEM WITH THEORY / Institut français du Royaume-Uni
Document audiovisuel
My Night with Pilosophers, 2013.
On issues such as gender, post-colonialism, social critique, or the cultural industry, ‘theory’ has been enjoying a renewed interest, and a great success, for quite a while now, as a sort of para-philosophical discourse, both more accessible and more blurry, transdisciplinary and quite literary. What is it really worth?
François Cusset is a writer and intellectual historian and Professor of American Civilisation at the University of Nanterre. He has been an associate researcher at The National Center of Scientific Research (Centre national de la recherche scientifique or CNRS), teacher of contemporary French culture at Reid Hall and professor at the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris.
