The Life and Work of Jacques Derrida / Derrida, Jacques
Document audiovisuel
A lecture commemorating the life and work of one of the greatest contemporary philosophers, Jacques Derrida. Jacques Derrida was born in 1930 in French Algeria. As a philosopher, his critique of Western philosophy and analyses of the nature of language, writing, and meaning were highly controversial but had an incredible influence on the intellectual world in the late 20th century. He eventually taught at universities throughout the world and published 40 books on his theory, which has come to be known as "deconstruction."
